Tutoring
Overview:
>Always discuss course difficulties with your instructor first. Utilize tutoring services as a secondary resource.
>Tutoring services are available to any Madison College student attending degree (credit) classes at any district location free of charge.
>Peer Tutors have earned an B or better in the courses they tutor and are recommended by Madison College faculty.
>If you meet with a tutor one-on-one, you will be limited to 3 hours of tutoring per week. Walk-in or small group tutoring does not have any limits.
Preparing for Tutoring:
>Prepare yourself in advance by completing all reading assignments and finishing as much of any assignment as you can before meeting with the tutor.
>Try to determine exactly what you don’t understand, and write down specific questions to ask the tutor.
>Bring your course syllabus, textbooks, lecture notes, handouts, assignment directives, and any other necessary materials and supplies.
>For additional suggestions, please see the Student Responsibilities page.
