Blackboard is a learning management tool that is used by a number of teachers at Madison Area Technical College. Not every teacher uses Blackboard, but every student can access it. If a teacher uses Blackboard, this means you are required to use it for some of your course work.
In order to get into Blackboard, you need to activate your MATC network ID. If you are an MATC student: To activate from campus or from home, go to http://matcmadison.edu/matc/studentresources/studentemail/about.shtm Click the Account Activation link and follow the instructions.

If you are a first time student registering for classes today, this process takes 24 hours before you can activate your account and access Blackboard.
If you are a returning student, check if your account is already activated in the Student Directory If your account has already been activated, your email address will be listed in the student directory. Your username is the first part of your email address. For example, a student named John Doe may have an email address jdoe2@stu.matcmadison.edu. In this case, his username would be jdoe2.
If you have forgotten your password, choose Reset Password and fill out the form completely. You need to answer the secret question exactly as you did when you activated your account, including the same punctuation and capitalization.
After activating your network account, it may take up to 15 minutes before you can log in to Blackboard.
