Turina Bakken's New Job
Thu, 11/17/2011 - 18:12 — wbessette
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Turina Bakken as Associate Vice President for Learner Success.
Turina has served at the College as a faculty member, program director, associate dean and most recently dean of the Business and Applied Arts center. She has been employed here since 1998. Prior to that Turina worked at MAQIN, a large network of non-profit organizations and the Executive Education Institute at the University of Wisconsin. In her “spare time” she serves as a color commentator on University of Wisconsin women’s hockey broadcasts.
Turina holds a Master of Science degree in Business and a bachelor degree in Business from UW-Madison. She is currently enrolled in the Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis Ph.D. program at
UW-Madison. As the Associate Vice President Turina will have responsibility for the Learner Success Integration Councils, International Education, Continuing Education, Contract Training, Procurement Assistance, the Academic Plan, the college curriculum team and related processes, and the institutional review board.
The College can look forward to benefitting from Turina’s dynamic leadership as she assumes her new position.
We are working on a transition plan for the Business and Applied Arts Center leadership and expect Turina to assume her new duties full time at the beginning of the spring semester.
Thank you to all who participated in this highly competitive process. I think all the candidates benefited from their interactions with the faculty and staff here.
Please help me welcome Turina to her new position.
Terry Webb
Provost
