Transferring and Disposing of Madison College Equipment
Mon, 12/12/2011 - 18:46 — wbessette
For all Madison College owned equipment (any equipment items purchased with capital funds, as well as equipment donated to Madison College through the Foundation), Facilities Management (Tom Riffle, Operation Services Manager) will determine and work with staff on the best and most appropriate method for disposal of any equipment, and make arrangements as needed for transfers. However, disposal and transfer of all computer-related equipment should be handled through Technology Services by contacting the Helpdesk.
Before contacting Facilities to transfer or dispose of all other equipment, please refer to the guidelines and forms in the Madison College A-Z index (listed under Asset, Equipment Removal, or Transfer Equipment) for the necessary information. Read and follow the guidelines and submit the necessary forms. Madison College policy and procedure follow WTCS requirements, which states no District equipment can be donated.
As of July 1, 2009, the equipment tagging threshold was increased from $500 to $5,000. Items with a cost between these amounts are still purchased with capital funds, but are no longer tagged and tracked in our fixed asset accounting database. When disposing or transferring tagged equipment purchased prior to July 1, 2009, please be sure to report those items on the Transfer/Disposal form if they have a MATC/Madison College barcode tag.
