Madison College is excited to announce a new brand for the Liberal Arts Transfer program, called Transfer U!
In November, two important things came to light:
- The information on the web for the Liberal Arts Transfer program was difficult to navigate.
- Liberal Arts Transfer students are transferring early, with only 4 percent of students completing their associate degrees.
Marketing worked closely with the Center for Arts and Sciences staff to find a solution...and Transfer U emerged!
What is Transfer U?
Transfer U is a new sub-brand that the college is using to promote the Liberal Arts Transfer program. Since the phrase "liberal arts" carries little meaning for prospective students, you should now refer to the program as Transfer U, the smart start to a 4-year degree. There are currently three paths to choose from (arts, engineering, and science), along with a path for those who are not sure of their career goal.
Is Liberal Arts Transfer still a program?
Yes, when students apply to the college they will apply to the Liberal Arts Transfer program. Students are encouraged to obtain associate degrees through the program in order to take full advantage of the cost comparison.
On most references, it will make sense to say "Transfer U" rather than "Liberal Arts Transfer." Please update your web pages to reflect this new brand.
All current and prospective Liberal Arts Transfer students should be directed to the Transfer U page. Further developments are in store for this section, including video content and career path rubrics.
Arts and Sciences students account for 40 percent of our enrollment and Madison College is the largest source of transfer students for UW-Madison. With Transfer U, we hope to provide students the information they need to successfully complete their associate’s degree and transfer to the school of their choice.
