Textbook Info Now Viewable on Class Search and Student Center

Madison College LogoIn an effort to provide students with an easier and more convenient way to schedule and prepare for classes, the college has improved the myMadisonCollege Class Search and Student Center class listing by adding detailed textbook information.

Previously, students seeking this information needed to either visit the Bookstore website and search by campus, department, course, and section number; or travel to their campus bookstore with class schedule in hand. Now, by linking the Bookstore textbook database to the existing class information, students can click on the class details and view complete textbook information associated with a class while browsing or enrolling, including:

    • Textbook status (required, recommended or optional)
    • Title, edition and author
    • Book ID number (ISBN)
    • Price (new and, if available, the typical used price)
    • Rental availability
    • Link to Bookstore website

This enhancement also provides students enrolled in classes with convenient access to a list of textbooks associated with their current class schedule from within the Student Center. According to Sarah M., a Madison College student, “This is awesome. It really shows that Madison College is dedicated to students and innovative to make coming here really easy.”

The same textbook submission process will continue for faculty; only now, information submitted to the Bookstore will be more readily available to students and viewable to instructors from the Faculty Center. The Bookstore website will also continue to support on-line reservations and purchases.
