Students to See Only Active Courses on Blackboard
Mon, 03/08/2010 - 12:00 — wbessette
Students can look forward to only seeing their active courses in their Blackboard account due to a new procedure that will make completed courses automatically inactive.
The procedure being implemented this spring term will:
-Solve the numerous complaints by students requesting removal of the courses they have either completed, or are no longer taking.
-Comply with course materials licensing requirements.
-Reduce the amount of time Library, Blackboard Administrator and Help Desk staff spend on addressing student complaints about continued access.
As a result, students will no longer see the completed courses in their course list in Blackboard four weeks after the end of the course. Instructors will continue to have the authority to selectively make a class available to individual students, as one might do for a student with an incomplete.
The entire procedure can be reviewed on the web.
Instructors who need help with these activities may contact the helpdesk[at] matcmadison [dot] edu (Help Desk) at (608) 246-6666.
