What is your Madison College/STEPS job title?
Enrollment Operations Manager – Enrollment Center. STEPS Project Lead – Self-service, Co-Lead – Campus Community, Lead – Communications and Training Team.

What goes into an “average day” for you?
Our project teams are currently working to complete, configure and develop phase 3 of the STEPS program, having recently completed the Analyze and Design portion with initial pass testing. We are working with our CCI consultants to complete retrofitting, functional/technical specs and prepare for Test Move1. The communications/training team of Dani Dahlke, Sandy Brendemuehl and I communicate program and  project updates, maintain the STEPS web pages and plan/coordinate upcoming role-based training. When I’m not working on STEPS, I manage Enrollment Service’s in communications, operations and Veterans services. You know, it’s all in a day’s work.

    Roxanne ZetzmanWhat is your background?
I began my professional career in customer service, first as a specialist then as an office and business manager. Besides currently working in higher education, I have also worked at CPA/consultant, bioscience and foodservice firms.

Give one example of how the upgrade will benefit staff members/faculty:
Automated online services and processes that eliminate manual steps and paper forms including communications and services to students with data tracking. Annie Neuberger and I presented an overview at Convocation. We’ll continue to keep staff/faculty/administrators updated via Matters and STEPS web pages.

Give an example of how students will benefit from the upgrade:
Many new and enhanced self-service options in the Student Center including online class permissions, class SWAP, academic planner, financial aid/finance information and options and more.

What is the best part of your job?
I really enjoy working with skilled professionals on developing and delivering new and enhanced services, information and business processes; all while having a few laughs along the way.

What are some of the greatest challenges you face?
    Time and resources.

What have been some of the best (STEPS related) moments?
Working on the program since last year, it has been most rewarding to see students benefitting from the new account creation process.  My greatest moments are seeing students and staff benefitting from other Quick Wins and improved business processes. Most recently, during the upgrade overview presentation at Convocation and Staff Update Meeting (SUM), the positive reaction of administrators, staff and faculty after sharing the many improvements we are working to deliver.

What do you like best about Madison College?
I am fortunate to work with strong leadership and associates who both individually and collectively work for the service and education of others. Also, to meet and assist the vast array of students and learners who walk through our doors, making the commitment to further their education.

What are some of your interests/hobby’s outside of work?
I enjoy time with family, hiking with my two labs, reading, floating on the water, spontaneous travels/adventures and enjoying the arts.
