STEPS Spotlight Review!

Student Transformation through Effective Practices and Systems (STEPS) teams have been working behind the scenes for months implementing ‘quick wins’ for our students and staff and preparing for our Campus Solutions (PeopleSoft) upgrade this summer. By focusing on system and process efficiencies, the teams have defined initiatives that are already transforming the student experience.
The new auto enroll feature off the class waitlist is an example of how we are saving days of time for staff and transparently providing access to our high demand classes for students. For this spring term, if seats became available for those filled classes, students were automatically placed into those seats based on their waitlist position. In the past, staff had to call each student!
Technology Services is already working on the new system enhancements for the summer upgrade that were approved by the teams and the STEPS team members are documenting the new business processes, as well as creating the communication and training plans.
All of these work efforts are in anticipation of our July launch date. The other exciting news is the project is on schedule and on budget! This is solely due to the hard work and dedication of our STEPS team members.
