The Student Transformation through Effective Practice and Systems (STEPS) Program continues to reshape Madison College through its three-phase initiative geared toward improving the student experience and advancing the practices of faculty and advisors. The Self-Service team plays a major role in this venture and is working in collaboration with all STEPS Teams and stakeholdersto provide students, faculty and advisors easier access to information through implementing improved self-service functionality and providing innovative tools and resources for users of the Student, Faculty and Advisor Centers.
The upgraded Student Center will offer a new, secure Message Center, from which service areas can communicate directly with students in a secure manner. Also new, an interactive Planner will allow students to plan for class registrations prior to enrollment. The Planner will function directly with the Shopping Cart and allow easy access to registration functions, when available. Financial Aid and student finance components will allow students easier access to vital account information, allowing for easier management of financial aid information, scholarships and finances. A printable 1098-T will also be available to recipients for instant access and printing.
Faculty Center advancements will provide user-friendly and detailed access to class and grade rosters, and will include new email and online class permission functionality.
The new Advising Center will also feature streamlined access to advisee information and provide a more intuitive What-If Report, formerly the Quick What-If, allowing for easier interpretation of how an advisee’s coursework could apply towards any given program curriculum. New online class permission functionality is another priority development for advisors, similar to that developed for faculty.
As the Self-Service Team continues work efforts to improve access to self-functionality, watch for communications regarding training sessions and more detailed information.
