STEPS Program - Upgrade Training Sessions are Almost Here!

With the STEPS upgrade quickly approaching, program teams will be moving into the final testing phases this month. The upgrade is scheduled for early July and teams are gearing up for the training classes that will instruct faculty and staff on new and improved functionality in preparation for go-live.
Training classes will offer a comprehensive look at PeopleSoft 9.0 to allow for a smooth transition for faculty and staff. There will be role-based training sessions tailored to faculty, advisors and administrative support staff. Information on dates and times will be located on the CETL website and it will be each employee’s responsibility to attend the class designated for their role.
Employees will need to visit the CETL Registration website to view available classes and to register. Registration is required and class completion will be recorded on employee transcripts. Each session title refers to the required attendees: faculty, advisor, Learner Center administration support staff, and student service staff. Those who are uncertain about which session(s) to attend should contact their immediate supervisor for more instructions.
Online registration will be available starting Friday, May 27, so be sure to visit the CETL website to sign up. At Truax, there will also be open lab sessions for everyone to utilize to practice what they learned in a previous session. See the STEPS web page for the training June-July calendar schedule of all classes and open lab dates.
After the July upgrade goes live, additional online resources will be posted and communicated. These publications will also be announced in Matters as they occur. Trainings will again be offered in August, during Convocation and term prep week and announced in Matters once these schedules are finalized.
Student self-service resources are also in development. Watch Matters and the STEPS web pages for future updates. The new and improved technology made possible by this upgrade will make using and sharing information safer, more secure and more efficient.
Together, we can make this upgrade a successful transition for the College.
