STEPS Financial Aid and Finance Team Moving Forward
Wed, 06/29/2011 - 12:45 — tvdao
The STEPS Program upgrade is fast approaching and the Financial Aid and Finance Team is poised to launch their new financial aid and financial services developments aimed at making information more organized and accessible. These developments will provide safe, secure ways to access financial information for students and staff.
The team is looking to give students more control over financial matters in their Student Center.
Students will have the following options available to them:
-Electronic 1098T’s - Students may elect to receive 1098T’s electronically through self-service and opt out of being mailed a 1098T in the future.
-Grant Permissions - Students may also grant permission for Title IV aid to pay for non-tuition items. Students will also have access to new view and sort details of their account information.
Students will have more access to their award information through Student Center self service, including:
-Award Viewing - Students may view their external scholarships and third party contract information included in their packaged awards.
-Email Communications - Madison College Financial Aid will begin communicating through email with students.
Students will begin receiving Missing Information Notices and Award Notices via email effective July 1.
These enhancements demonstrate the Financial Aid and Finance team’s commitment to making financial information more readily available and easier to control. The team is proving that at Madison College we aim to make the focus on education by preventing financial aid related problems and providing comprehensive financial information.
Financial Aid and Finance Team members included Marcia Forbes, team lead; team members Judy Nelson, Jayme Kerr, Lisa Keller, Janell Benish, Kate Sopha, Elaine Wilkinson, Patti Keena-Brigson, Wendy Stalker, Tonya Vertein and Martha Klaila; and Ellen Baeth and Michael Schulman from CedarCrestone consulting.
