Referendum "Thank You" From President Barhorst

Tuesday night we received the wonderful news that the voters of this district believe in and support a high-quality, modern and flexible community and technical college. On behalf of Madison Area Technical College I sincerely thank you for your support of this initiative.

President Barhorst and Wolfie Celebrate on Election Night! If anyone has ever doubted the power of a group of people rallying together to promote a common cause, he or she need only reflect on what this College community has done over the past eight weeks. Because of this remarkable community of students, faculty, administrators, staff, board trustees, foundation board members, alumni, retirees and college friends, we are finally in a position to meet the needs of our students, local employers, and families throughout our 12-county district.

Now the Madison College Facilities Master Plan will begin to take shape. The first shovel will be in the ground by July 1st, with three or four projects underway over the summer. It won’t be long before the sounds of progress in the form of digging, sawing and hammering, can be heard across our campus district.

We have all been working so hard to make this dream become a reality—and now it has! I wish I could say that the hard work is over, but it really has just begun. Wednesday morning we celebrated with students in the cafeteria through a short reception and a lot of cake, but while some of us celebrated others were meeting and planning for the new Madison Area Technical College.

On election night we were energized by the mantra of "Ready. Set. Vote."  We were ready, the people of our district voted and we won!  So now we move on to a new mantra.  Ready. Set. Grow. Build. Go!

    Madison College President Bettsey Barhorst
