PT Faculty: Role Based Security Upgrade Changes

The Student Transformation through Effective Practice and Systems (STEPS) Program is entering the final stages of the PeopleSoft 9.0 upgrade. As part of this upgrade, the Role Based Security system is being implemented in phases, which will include changes in Faculty Center access for Part-Time Faculty.

Part-time faculty not assigned to classes for spring, summer, and fall will undergo changes to PeopleSoft Faculty Center access starting on May 23. The Role Based Security process will remove access for Part-Time Faculty not assigned as instructor to classes for an upcoming term. As faculty are assigned summer, fall, and spring courses, their PeopleSoft access will be enabled.

Role Based Security will bring automated processes that allow for easier creation and maintenance of user accounts for faculty and staff with the following added benefits:

    PeopleSoft logo-Discontinuation of paper-based process
    -Consistent and appropriate role-based access
    -Staff time savings
-Simplified access to the system for new employees

The assignment of security based on role will take place automatically for:

-New faculty and staff upon the employee start date
-Current faculty and staff when transfer or promotion occurs
-All employees upon separation from the college or during a leave of absence

All staff and faculty will be notified of security access changes prior to implementation. For questions regarding security access for your role, please contact your immediate supervisor.
