Outstanding Professional Development Opportunity: Choosing a Good Road

Outstanding Professional Development Opportunity: Choosing A Good Road

    With Dr. Jonathan Brennan
    December 14-15, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
    West Campus, Rooms 209, 210

Dr. Jonathan BrennanCETL, together with Learner Development, announce a one-time only professional development opportunity related to serving our incoming students.  As an extension of our efforts in College Success courses, Learning to Learn Camp, and other efforts to support incoming high school graduates our College is in the process of creating a Early or Middle College program to serve students who are in transition from Alternative High Schools, GED, and HSED programs to our college degree and diploma programs. Research tells us that this group of students comes to us with particular and specific needs and that much of our programming does not currently meet these needs.

The special two-day workshop (December 14-15) is being offered exclusively in December due to Dr. Brennan’s availability and our plans for the Middle College. Offered by the author of the book “Choosing a Good Road," the book and workshop are an off-shoot of Jonathan’s work as a facilitator for Dr. Skip Downing and his On Course workshops and the book and workshop are an off-shoot of Jonathan’s work as a facilitator for Dr. Skip Downing and his On Course workshops and materials. If you liked working with ON Course we suspect you will love “Choosing a Good Road.”

Created for middle and high school teachers, counselors and administrators, the Choosing a Good Road Workshop is an active learning experience that offers proven strategies in learner effectiveness. Educators learn the tools required to dramatically increase high school completion rates and college and career readiness. Workshop strategies are drawn from the work of leading researchers in multiple fields of human effectiveness.
