New Student Email Information

The Madison College student email service will be upgraded to Microsoft Outlook Web App 2010 on Monday, January 24. Students, faculty and staff may have questions as we go through this process. Answers to many of those questions can be found online. If you have questions that aren’t answered on this website, please contact a librarian or student computer help desk technician to help find the answer.

Here are some important points to remember:
• The ending for the new student email addresses will be matcmadison.edu.
• Any mail sent to a student's old account will be automatically redirected to the new account.
• While the old address will no longer be able to receive new mail after January 24, it will remain available for students to access for the purposes of forwarding their old messages to their new account.

• All students registered for courses in the Spring semester will have a new account automatically created in the new mail system.
• Blackboard, student enrollment and directory databases will all be automatically converted to the new email address.
• Students not registered for courses in the Spring semester will need to activate their new accounts by executing a password reset.
• Email sent to students who are not registered for the Spring Semester will not be received unless they reactivate their account by executing a password reset.
• Storage space for student e-mails will increase to 1 GB of storage and a maximum message size (including attachments) of 50 MB, allowing students to send and receive larger files.
• Students will have access to advanced e-mail organization, search, communication and social networking features.
• Students will be able to easily access their e-mail accounts from most of their mobile devices.
