New CETL Offering: Accelerated Teaching Methods
Thu, 09/01/2011 - 10:03 — tvdao
The Accelerated Teaching Methods course prepares participants teaching accelerated courses, but is not limited to teachers of this format. The methods can really be used in any classroom and past participants say that they found new ways to engage students and employ active learning in their classes. The course also focuses in on helping faculty understand and use the Meier learning cycle, which promotes learning through careful use of the stages: Preparation, Presentation, Practice, and Performance.
The fall course will be held on Wednesday evenings from 5 - 9 p.m. at our West campus starting September 21 through October 26. This course meets certification requirements for WTCS #52, as well as two certification credits for those in the five-year cycle.
Interested participants can register for this course through the CETL database.
