New Auto-Enrollment from Class Waitlists

Madison College LogoAuto Enroll from waitlists was successfully delivered on Monday, November 1. A result of STEPS Phase II Class Waitlist Management Project, the auto enrollment procedure was designed to transform the way students are enrolled from waitlists into classes at Madison College. Students will be automatically enrolled into classes from waitlists as space becomes available, up to two days prior to the class start date.

Previously, staff assistance was required for all enrollment into classes from class waitlists. For program courses, center office staff contacted students when a space became available. For degree and nondegree courses, students monitored their class schedule for waitlist position changes from their myMadisonCollege Student Center and contacted staff for enrollment when a space became available.

With Auto Enroll, students can now add themselves to one class waitlist per course, up to 12 units total. An automated process enrolls students as spaces becomes available, up to two days prior to the date the class starts. These students will be notified by letter, email or personal contact after enrollment into a waitlisted class occurs; however, if a class is scheduled to start within two days, students should monitor their Student Center for enrollment.

Auto Enroll improves experiences for Madison College students and staff by:
    - Eliminating student confusion regarding when to attend classes, when to wait for the waitlist to be processed by a Center Office and how enrollment from a waitlist is processed.
    - Minimizing time spent by staff on class waitlist management.
    - Ensuring full classroom and resource utilization.

If enrolled, students will be responsible for all tuition and fees associated with the class per the refund policy. For complete information on Auto Enroll, see the Add/Drop Classes web page.
