Madison College Upgrading to Blackboard Learn™

    We have some exciting news. We will soon be upgrading to Blackboard Learn™, Release 9. Here are just a few exciting new features:

    Promote active collaboration and social learning through:
    -Course Wiki’s, Blogs and Journals and Group tools
    -A Web 2.0 user experience
    -Mash-ups that allow you to integrate Web 2.0 resources from youtube.com, slideshare.com and flickr.com

    Supporting educator efficiency:
    -Manage content at the course level
    -Grade in context with more options
    -Create assessments in less time
    -Improved workflow and fewer clicks overall!

    Blackboard has some excellent resources to help us better understand how to take advantage of all the new features in Release 9.1.

    A couple of the valuable new resources that you may be interested in checking out are:
    -A New On-Demand Learning Center with free access to video quick tutorials and Getting Started Guides
    -Preview account through Blackboard’s CourseSites service so that you can get a look at the new release. Just create an account and explore Bb 9.

    I am confident that you will find as much excitement in Release 9.1 as I do. You will hear from me again as we get closer to going live with Release 9.1. Until then, please take some time to look at the attached “What’s New in Release 9.1” brochure. It will give you some more detail about the innovative new features we are about to experience.
