Madison College Leases Broadband Service Frequencies

We are pleased to announce that Madison College has successfully leased its Educational Broadband Service (EBS) frequencies for an increased revenue of $9,198,690 over the next 30 years.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) granted the College broadband licenses for educational use, but the College was unable to use the licenses due significant capital costs. The College was able to sublease the licenses to a commercial carrier of wireless broadband services.

The College is committed to using the proceeds from the lease to further invest in educational efforts through the use of advanced technology.

Congratulations to Carolyn Jarrett, Igor Steinberg and Richard Graves for the successful completion of this important project!
