Infrastructure Services Administrative Staff Updates

Over the last several months, the College has started several large projects – many of these are building projects that cross over several departments within the Infrastructure Services (IS) area. Any time an organization takes on large projects such as these, it also must assess staffing levels. Unfortunately, the Governor’s proposed budget limits the College and we must look within to fill the gaps identified.
Over the last month, Infrastructure Services has assessed areas leadership needs and identified strengths of current administrative staff to fill those needs. We are pleased, at this time, to share changes that will occur within the IS area.
Beginning immediately Ed Noehre will be the College’s Chief Financial Office (CFO)/Controller. Ed began his employment with Madison College in January 2008 as the Director of Finance/Controller. Over his tenure with the College, Ed has proven to be an integral part of IS and the College.
Paul Renzi has been with Madison College since March 2008 and has served as the Director of Auxiliary Services. With the passing of the referendum in November, the workload has increased in our Facility Services department, and it has become evident there is a need for a Property Management arm of the department. Paul has experience in previous positions dealing with property management, and we believe his skills are best used in this capacity as Director of Property Management reporting to Mike Stark. The Campus Scheduling and Event Services department will continue to report to Paul.
Terrie Thorstad will move from her position within Technology Services and will now serve as the Director of Auxiliary Services reporting to Ed Noehre. Terrie will manage food services, vending, bookstores, regional stores, and printing and duplicating services. Terrie has been with the College for well over 10 years and her management skills will serve this area well.
Last September Igor Steinberg accepted the position of Chief Information Office and has been assessing the structure within Technology Services. This area is undertaking some changes with Kim Bethea serving as Director Technology Operations, Tom Collins taking the role of Director Network Services, Susan Schneider will be the Director Desktop Engineering and Support, Regina Mosher continuing to serve as the Director Administrative Applications, and Andrea Deau is now serving as the Director Academic Services. Bruce Coulter, Chief Information Security Officer, will continue to work closely with me, but will remain as a direct report to Igor.
There are a couple of other items we would like to share with you. First, we would like to introduce to you Tim Casper. Tim started with Madison College on May 24 and is serving in an interim administrative position as the Public Affairs and Government Relations Manager. Tim will report directly to the College’s president, but will also be a liaison with the College’s registered lobbyists, which are Terry Webb and Roger Price.
Lastly, we want to share with you a new role I will assist the President with. The Foundation Director, Bob Dinndorf, will continue to report directly to the President, but I will serve as a liaison. The College and the Foundation work collaboratively on several large projects, and this relationship is instrumental. Having this daily connection will assist in the work of the organizations.
I am pleased and confident of the changes taking place within the IS areas. I also know that the work of administrators is only as good as the teams they lead. The employees in each area of IS are dedicated, quality staff, who have created a great team, of which I am very proud.
