H1N1 Vaccine Update
Wed, 10/28/2009 - 12:25 — wbessette
We had hoped to reschedule our flu shot clinics at a later date, but a nationwide shortage of the vaccine will most likely prevent that from happening.
State officials just released an update of the amount of H1N1 vaccine available and who will be the first to receive it. Pregnant women, small children, health care professionals and people with underlying health conditions are at the top of the list.
At this time we recommend you contact your local hospital/clinic to find out when the vaccine will be available.
We'll continue to work with public health officials to keep you informed on the H1N1 flu.
In the meantime, it's very important you follow these guidelines:
• Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water.
• Use alcohol-based hand sanitizers between hand washings.
• Avoiding rubbing your eyes, nose, or mouth.
• Avoid close contact with sick people.
• Stay home if you're sick.
•If you have flu-like symptoms stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone (your fever should be gone without the use of a fever-reducing medicine).
