Faculty Forum on Classroom Scheduling

faculty focus groupOverview of the Project
The College is evaluating current practices and policies related to class scheduling and room assignment, space usage, and staffing related to the management and scheduling of instructional spaces. The outcome of this evaluation will be a set of recommendations defining any policy or management changes needed to optimize the efficient use of instructional space.

To assist with this evaluation, in May the College purchased a web-based solution from CollegeNet, Series25, to use as a central management tool for institution-wide academic room scheduling and events management. The Series25 solution is a web-based software system that provides a fast, efficient classroom scheduling optimizer; master calendaring; integration with the PeopleSoft Student Information System; and one-of-a-kind analytical reporting service for master planning.

Join us at the Faculty Focus Groups next week!
The first phase of the system implementation requires understanding the benefits and challenges of current management practices and space utilization. To that end, a series of meetings is scheduled to hear from faculty and staff who are involved in room scheduling. The meetings will be held in the Board Room on Monday, September 26 at 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and 3 to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, September 27 at 9 to 10 a.m. and 10:30 to 11:30.a.m. We are hoping to include faculty representation from the Truax, Downtown and West campuses.

    Faculty are encouraged to RSVP.
