Good news for all those needing mail delivered to Canada!
Back-To-Work Legislation was passed by the Canadian Government late Sunday night. Canadian Postal employees will be back on the job beginning Monday at 8:30 p.m. The United States Postal Service (USPS) will begin accepting mail for Canada on Tuesday, June 28. Mail being held in the network since the lockout began is now being released and transported into Canada.
Note: Due to large volumes of mail being held by countries around the world during the lockout, Canada may experience slightly longer transit times. The USPS expects that this will ease as delivery in Canada returns to normal.
The USPS is continuing to work closely with the Canadian Postal Service to help minimize these delays as much as possible.
Customers looking to avoid delays should use Global Express Guaranteed (GXG), according to the USPS. GXG is the best option for expedited delivery into Canada. GXG is available at thousands of retail locations across the country or through Click-N-Ship.
