Budget Office Update

As many of you are aware, Sarah Hart McGuinnis has accepted a new position. I would like to take this opportunity to thank and recognize Sarah for her many years of dedicated work at the College, and the accomplishments she has achieved during this time. I know she will be successful in her new role and wish her all the best in her new endeavor.

The office of the Senior Vice President for Administration will be working directly with staff in the Budget office. There is no immediate intent to designate an interim manager. Roger Thompson is designated as the lead of the office and will address the day-to-day operational questions. Change often creates the opportunity for a fresh look. During this transition period we intend to review and analyze the direction and structure of the Budget office. We have met with each of the Budget office staff individually. We have begun work on a transition plan, including looking at the functions and responsibility of each of the positions within the Budget office.

One question that is being asked is whether the Budget office will be merged with the Finance office. It is my philosophical belief that there will continue to be a budget office that operates as a functional extension of the Senior Vice President for Administration. The review will indicate whether specific responsibilities assigned are better handled by other departments/divisions within the college.

as a college and supporting its core mission, providing access to quality higher education.
