Blackboard Student Course Availability Procedure in Place
Tue, 06/29/2010 - 11:58 — wbessette
Courses are now unavailable to students 4 weeks after the end of the term. This fall, the new Blackboard Learning System Student Course Availability Procedure was adopted after significant discussion among centers, service groups and the Learner Success Integration Council to meet student demand to remove old courses from their view.
Faculty continue to have the ability to re-activate courses at their discretion and can do so by following these instructions:
Course Availability Instructions
-If your course is listed as Unavailable you will see this in your Courses you are teaching listing
-Go to the Control Panel of your course
-Click on Settings - lower left in the Course Options area. Select Course Availability
-Choose Yes to make the class available
-Submit
IMPORTANT:
Older term courses being re-used are impacted by this process and will also be made unavailable. CETL is prepared to assist faculty with structuring term courses in a format to avoid this issue. Please contact CETL for assistance.
Efforts to communicate this change through Matters, web, and system announcements have been ongoing since this fall.
