Blackboard 9.1 Upgrade Schedule for Faculty

    We are excited to report that our move to Blackboard 9.1 is on track for our Spring 2012 launch! Here is some information that will help you prepare for the move. More information to come as we approach the Fall semester.

    August 5
    -Summer 2011 courses will be upgraded.**
    (These courses will be available in both Blackboard 8 and our new Blackboard 9.1, however, any content added after August 5 to Summer 2011 course shells in our current version of Blackboard 8 will not appear in your upgraded** Blackboard 9.1 course shell)

    Blackboard logoAugust 15
    -Spring 2010, Summer 2010, Fall 2010, Spring 2011 and Summer 2011 classes that were upgraded on July 28th and August 5th will be available in Blackboard 9.1.

    Fall 2011
    -Courses will be taught in our current version, Blackboard 8.

    December 15
    -Fall 2011 courses will be upgraded.**
    (Content added after December 15to Fall 2011 course shells in Blackboard 8 will not appear in your upgraded** Blackboard 9.1 course shell)

    Spring 2012
    -All courses will be taught in Blackboard 9.1.
    -Blackboard 8 will no longer be available.

    **Upgraded means that they will still be available in our current version of Blackboard 8, but will also be copied into the Blackboard 9.1 environment.

    CETL is gearing up for a wide variety of training options for you in August and throughout the Fall to prepare you for using the new version of Blackboard. If you wish to familiarize yourself with Blackboard 9.1 prior to these sessions, you can check these resources to learn more. Be sure to watch for additional information coming in August.

    During the archive process over the coming weeks, you can expect Blackboard to be available.
