Blackboard 9 New Roles and Privileges

    Blackboard 9 introduces new roles and privileges which are a change from the current Blackboard 8 software.

    BlackboardThese changes are a result of improving and aligning business processes and serve as a platform for improved PeopleSoft integrations. Changes have been made to instructor roles, new roles have been added to accommodate student mentors, workers and peers, and you will find new guidelines for the teaching assistant, instructor-other and guests. 

    Compare the role changes in Bb 9 side by side with existing roles in Bb 8 here. Please note, the grader role is inactive in the Blackboard 9.1.x system. Even though the instructor will have the ability to add users as graders, the role has no active privileges.
