911 & Background Changes to New Phones

Last fall when new phones were implemented at the regional campuses, we expanded the options for emergency dialing to include 911 as well as 9-911 on the new phones.  

Over time, this has lead to a number of misdials across the campuses, so the College has decided to return to 9-911 only. This change will continue to allow callers access to emergency services as outlined in the Madison College policies and procedures while alleviating unplanned calls to emergency service providers.

This change to the new phones will take place on Friday night. At the same time, a reminder, "For Emergencies, Dial 9-911" will be added to the screen on all new phones. Also in conjunction with this change, the background image will be updated with the new logo!   

This new screen, created with spaces for line standard buttons and information displays, will then be deployed to all new phones as the rollout continues. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about these changes.
