TOPIC FUNCTIONS
Logging into GroupWise Log in with your Network ID.  You don't have a password to start out.   Just click OK.  See next topic for setting your password
Creating a password Tools; Options; Security - Password tab  (Require password prompting!)
Creating your signature Tools; Options; Environment - Signature tab  (Caution! - Choose "Prompt before adding signature" because signature is attached to the workstation not the id)
Sending an email message Click "New Mail" icon or press "CTRL+M".  Fill in desired fields and click Send.
Address Book When you click on the address book there will be three tabs to choose from: 1) Novell GroupWise Address Book, "your address book", and Frequent Contacts.  The GroupWise book is administered by the system administrator.  You have complete control over your own address book.  Add or delete names and addresses as you like.  The system automatically adds names to the Frequent Contacts address book depending upon who you send mail.
Set or Show properties File; Properties or Alt+Enter - set priority or initiate a return receipt.  Check status of outgoing mail including who (in GroupWise) has opened or deleted your message.
Creating new folders Right click on cabinet icon and select New Folder.  Follow prompts to share and locate folder within your cabinet.
Calendaring On the tool bar, click the calendar icon down arrow to display the various calendar options.  Go to Tools; Options; Date & Time to set calendar and search preferences.
Setting up a Meeting There are meetings or personal appointments.  On the tool bar, click the appointment icon down arrow to display the options.  A meeting implies a group and a personal appointment schedules only you.
Proxy rights Allowing others to look at your calendar - Tools; Options; Security - Proxy Access tab.  Enter the person's name you want to give proxy rights to and then mark the items you want him or her to be able to perform.

Proxy must then add you to his/her proxy list by going to File; Proxy

Web access to GroupWise Your email and calendar are available through the Web via any browser at gwweb.matcmadison.edu.  Enter your network ID and GroupWise password when prompted and you can read your mail, reply to mail and update your calendar.  There are few features not available, e.g., the busy search for scheduling meetings.
GroupWise Support If you have questions or problems first check the online Help screens.   If you can't find what you are looking for, come to this Web site.  If you still can't find the answer, send an email message to the Helpdesk.  The address is "helpdesk".
