| Logging into GroupWise |
Log in with your Network ID. You don't have a password to start out.
Just click OK. See next topic for setting your password |
| Creating a password |
Tools; Options; Security - Password tab (Require password prompting!) |
| Creating your signature |
Tools; Options; Environment - Signature tab (Caution! - Choose "Prompt before adding signature" because
signature is attached to the workstation not the id) |
| Sending an email message |
Click "New Mail" icon or press "CTRL+M". Fill in
desired fields and click Send. |
| Address Book |
When you click on the address book there will be three tabs to choose
from: 1) Novell GroupWise Address Book, "your address book", and Frequent
Contacts. The GroupWise book is administered by the system administrator. You
have complete control over your own address book. Add or delete names and addresses
as you like. The system automatically adds names to the Frequent Contacts address
book depending upon who you send mail. |
| Set or Show properties |
File; Properties or Alt+Enter - set
priority or initiate a return receipt. Check status of outgoing mail including who
(in GroupWise) has opened or deleted your message. |
| Creating new folders |
Right click on cabinet icon and select New Folder. Follow prompts to
share and locate folder within your cabinet. |
| Calendaring |
On the tool bar, click the calendar icon down arrow to display the various
calendar options. Go to Tools; Options; Date & Time to set
calendar and search preferences. |
| Setting up a Meeting |
There are meetings or personal appointments. On the tool bar, click
the appointment icon down arrow to display the options. A meeting implies a group
and a personal appointment schedules only you. |
| Proxy rights |
Allowing others to look at your calendar - Tools; Options;
Security - Proxy Access tab. Enter the person's name you want to give proxy
rights to and then mark the items you want him or her to be able to perform. Proxy must
then add you to his/her proxy list by going to File; Proxy |
| Web access to GroupWise |
Your email and calendar are available through the Web via any browser at gwweb.matcmadison.edu. Enter your network ID and GroupWise password when prompted and you can read
your mail, reply to mail and update your calendar. There are few features not
available, e.g., the busy search for scheduling meetings. |
