Our Philosophy

We believe children learn best by being active… through play, figuring things out on their own and from their own experiences. We encourage active learning by providing developmentally appropriate materials, which reflect the interest of the children. We believe in building an important foundation for the future of each child.

The MATC Child and Family Centers view discipline as part of the teaching and learning process. We understand that children go through many different developmental stages and respect the struggles that may occur during each stage. Our guidance strategies are based on the awareness of children’s individual needs and strengths along with the knowledge of child development.

Educational Policy

The MATC Child and Family Centers provide a variety of learning experiences geared to each child’s needs and abilities. The developmentally appropriate and anti-bias curriculum is designed to promote self-esteem, independence and learning. A balance of active and quiet, indoor and outdoor, and structured and non-structured activities occur throughout the day. Our program includes experiences that enhance positive self-image, social interactions, self-expression, communication, creative expression and large and small muscle development. Our schedule and daily routines include activities to meet the educational, social, and emotional needs of the children.
