Health Education Center

What is the Health Education Center?

The Health Education Center, located inside the Truax Student Life Office in Room 140, offers many health programs and provides resources and information for students. This health education emphasis will enable students to make informed decisions and be self-directed regarding their own personal health and wellness. Various informational tables and health screenings are held throughout the year including a Wellness Fair.

Direct health care is not available for students or staff on MATC campuses. However, a number of public and private agencies are available for students’ direct health care needs. These agencies include, but are not limited to Dean Care Clinics, Public Health Departments, UW Physicians Plus, and Concentra Medical Center. For nonlife-threatening emergencies, accidents, or incidents, these agencies may be contacted. As always, 911 should be called in the event of an emergency.

All students are expected to be responsible for their own health care and insurance and to have a physician or clinic as their primary care provider. The MATC District does not assume responsibility for any medical expenses.
