Student Senate Applications Accepted
Students with six or more credits and a 2.5 GPA are eligible to run for Student Senate. Applications are due Sept. 12 and elections will be held on Sept. 22. You can apply online at http://matcmadison.edu/studentsenate.
Movie Tickets at the Fitness desk!
Marcus Movie Tickets are available at the Fitness, Health & Recreation Service Desk, Truax Room 112A! These make great gifts for the newspaper boy, your kid’s daycare provider, teacher or just to use for a fun night out with your family.
- VIP Silver Movie Fun Tickets - $5.50 each. Tickets are not valid on Saturdays after 5:30 p.m. and when a film is listed as an “Extra Special Attraction.” Films listed as an “Extra Special Attraction” limit the acceptance of Marcus Movie Fun/Discount Tickets for the first two weeks. One free popcorn ticket for every two tickets purchased! Expiration date is 6/29/09.

Lockers are Free
Students who would like to use a locker at the Truax campus are welcome to use one for free while they last. Simply pick a locker near your classes and put your own lock on it. In order to maintain the lockers and ensure that locked lockers have not been abandoned, we ask that all lockers be cleaned out by May 22, 2009. Any lockers with a lock on them at that time will have the lock cut and the contents removed. If you need a lock, you can purchase one at the Truax Campus Bookstore. Lockers at the Downtown are available for checkout from the Student Services office, Room 117. You must provide your name and contact information.
National Alternative Fuel Day
Madison Area Technical College will host a local event as part of the National Alternative Fuels Vehicle Days Odyssey. The event on Friday, October 3, will feature presentations from 9 a.m. to noon and a vehicle display from noon to 3 p.m. in Room 142C at Truax. Presentations will include GM, Toyota, the State of WI Office of Energy Independence, and Green Autos. Optical Dispensary Fall Hours
The Optometric Technician Program's optical dispensary located in room 314 of the Truax campus is now open Fridays from noon to 3 p.m. Students and staff may order new glasses and have minor repairs and adjustments made to their existing glasses. Audition Opportunity
MATC Performing Arts is holding auditions for th musical comedy, "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change." Auditions will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 16-17, in Truax Room 101. Performances will be held on Jan. 30, 31, and Feb. 1, and Feb. 5-7. The cast requires two to six men and two to six women.
