What is Santa’s Wish List?

Santa’s Wish List is a program designed to assist students of Madison College with the means to provide gifts for their children during the holiday season.  The Volunteer Center takes the Santa's Wish List program seriously and asks that those who apply be truthful to the program.

Who is eligible?

Those who are eligible for this specific program must meet the requirements listed below:

• Students must be enrolled at Madison College during the fall 2011 term.
• Students applying must be the legal guardian of the child on the application.
• The student must be 12 years or younger.
• Proof of student status by presenting your Student ID when picking up gifts.

How do I apply?

All applications will be filled out online by November 4, 2011.  As a student at Madison College, you have free computer and internet access at any campus location.  If you need assistance completing the application, feel free to visit the Center for Student Life in Truax room 140 or Downtown room D125.

What kind of gifts may I ask for?

Please ask for gifts that can be purchased for $25 or less to enable us to serve more children. You may ask for the following:  Stuffed animals, action figures, dolls, board games, learning games, art supplies, toys, books & clothes. If asking for clothes, please provide the sizes. You may ask for several gifts. For any category, please be as specific as possible.

What is the deadline?

The last day to submit an application is Friday, November 4, 2011 at 4:30 PM.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

If you need help completing an application, please contact the Volunteer Center at the Truax Campus, which is located in the Center for Student Life in Truax room 140 or Downtown room D125. 

As one of the largest events of the year, it’s safe to say we need all the help we can get! From getting the word out, to putting displays up, all the way through to the final days where we bag the gifts & give them out to the parents, we need people to help make it all happen!

Interested in Joining the Santa's Wish List Committee?

Madison College students who are not applying to receive gifts may join the Santa’s Wish List Committee.

Committee members are in charge of overseeing all the projects related to this event, scheduling dates for various volunteer opportunities and all the other behind-the-scenes work.  Students are required to meet as a committee once a week and attend as many of the volunteer projects as possible.

To apply for the Santa’s Wish List Committee, please fill out the online application.

Volunteer

Madison College students who are able to commit to a couple volunteer projects here & there or are serving on a different Volunteer Center Committee have the chance to help with a number of volunteer projects.

We will be posting events as they come in on the Wall of our Facebook Page, through Updates sent to Fans on Facebook & via email. Adopt a Child

Students, faculty, staff, alumni/alumnae and community members are welcome to donate gifts to a particular child ("adopt a child") may do so once the trees go up the week of November 7 at the Truax and Downtown campuses.  Check back with this website often for updated information and dates.

Donate

Students, faculty, staff, alumni/alumnae & community members who would like to donate gifts or money to the pool may do so now through Friday, December 2. 

Monetary donations go into our account to serve as backup in case not all the children on the trees are adopted. Leftover money is used for future Santa's Wish List Programs. 

To donate gifts or money, please visit the Center for Student Life, Truax room 140 and ask for Cody or Jason or email the VolunteerCenter[at] matcmadison [dot] edu?subject=Santa's%20Wish%20List" rel="nofollow">Volunteer Center.

Donated gifts  will also be given to those who are not adopted. Additional gifts we have from this pool, and leftovers we purchase, will be donated to Toys for Tots in partnership with the Madison College Vets for Vets.
