Risk Management
Mission Statement
The Madison Area Technical College (MATC) Risk Management Office provides risk management leadership, support, and education, to our campus community, including students, staff, faculty, and visitors in order to sustain a safe and healthy campus, to preserve human and physical assets, and to minimize liabilities from unexpected events.
What we do
This process is done by identifying, evaluating, and controlling risks and unexpected events faced by our institution. We utilize a number of processes and resources to achieve our mission:
- Maintain current values for buildings, contents, and moveable property
- Respond to all property, liability and other casualty losses, initiating investigations and accomplishing the appropriate resolution of all claims
- Develop programs for loss prevention based on available loss data
- Coordinate loss control activities, in cooperation with Security Services
- Authorize and maintain data base of approved drivers
- Manage special insurance programs including surety bonding, equipment maintenance insurance, and programs to protect employees on qualified federal grants and participants in camps and clinic programs
- Review insurance language in vendor and research contracts to control transfer of risk
- Review and approve Certificates of Insurance for vendors and facility users and maintain online database of insurance information
- Serve as a resource and provide consultation on matters related to insurance and loss prevention.
The Risk Management Office looks forward to assisting you. If you have any questions please contact Joshua Cotillier in the Risk/EHS office at 608-246-6291.
