Voters said "yes" at the polls Tuesday to Madison Area Technical College's plan to expand and update its campuses to help people get back to work and strengthen the economy.
We want to thank everyone who supported the referendum in these uncertain economic times, including all the media and organizations who understand the important role Madison College plays in the community.
The Capital Times, Sun Prairie Star, Daily Jefferson County Union, The Clarion and WISC-TV Editorial Director Neil Heinen, are among those who recently showed their support for Madison Area Technical College's referendum.
The Capital Times says "Madison Area Technical College is a vital force in our local economy that must be strengthened if we are going to meet the challenges of the future."
Meanwhile, The WIsconsin State Journal says the College is "on the front lines of putting people back to work and helping others keep their jobs in this challenging economy...that's why MATC's (Madison College) request for a $133.7 million building referendum deserves support this fall."
Others supporting the College's referendum included the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce, Watertown Daily Times, Badger Herald, AFT Wisconsin, South Central Federation of Labor, Madison Teachers Union, Downtown Madison, Inc., and the College's Full-Time Faculty and Paraprofessional and School-Related Personnel unions.
Again, thank you for your support!
