Tina Ahedo named 2009 Athena Young Professional

Athena Award statueValentina (Tina) Ahedo is the ATHENA Young Professional Award honoree for 2009! The award recognizes emerging leaders (age 25 to 40) who work to improve the lives of women in our community.

Tina received the award at a dinner on November 11 hosted by The Business Forum, a Madison-based women’s professional organization. She was one of seven nominees for the award. The criteria for the award fit her very well:

    • an emerging leader who demonstrates excellence, creativity and initiative in his or her business or profession.
    • one who clearly serves as a role model for young women, personally and professionally.
    • provides valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community.

Tina is the program coordinator of our Diversity and Community Relations office. She has worked at Madison Area Technical College for the past five years.

    Congratulations Tina!
