
Retail Management Certificate
About
The Retail Management Certificate is designed for updating and/or broadening the knowledge of employees in the field of retail management. Ideal candidates currently work in retail, food service, or other sales type industry or have experience in one of these fields.
The certificate is intended to assist students in understanding the various aspects, ethics, and work involved in the retail industry. Students will be better prepared to understand, use, and make recommendations for improvements using various reports in the retail industry operationally, financially, related to human resources, and merchandising as well as other areas of the business. Students will increase their ability and confidence in the areas of supervision related to hiring, training, and leading others effectively. Effective communication with peers, supervisors, subordinates, and stakeholders will also be stressed.
These courses are offered in hybrid or face-to-face format.
Admissions
Certificate Eligibility
To earn a certificate, you need to apply for admission. A grade of C or better is required in each course to award the certificate. No more than 50% of the certificate credits may be through advanced standing.
Online Certificate Application
Create an ApplyWeb account and follow the instructions to complete the Online Certificate Application. Submit the $15 non-refundable fee (payable by credit card, debit card or electronic check) with your application. Applicants may submit more than one certificate application per term using the Online Certificate Application; the same fees apply for each additional application.
Paper Certificate Application
You can request a paper application from the Enrollment Center at (608) 246-6210. Submit the $15 non-refundable fee (payable by check or money order) with your application. Effective January 1, 2011, the non-refundable paper certificate application fee will be $20. Please note: using a paper application can delay the processing of your admission application additional two weeks.
Financial Aid Eligibility
Certificates are not eligible for financial aid.
