
IT-Android Applications Development Certificate
About
This certificate is designed to prepare information systems professionals to develop Android applications. Students use the Android SDK environment for development. Two classes are used to teach students the necessary skills to make them successful in Android Applications Development.
Admissions
Admissions Requirements
To be eligible for this certificate, you must be:
- A Madison College IT programming student who has completed either 10-152-102 Advanced Visual Basic .NET Programming, 10-152-112 Advanced Java Programming, 10-152-141 C# Programming in Visual Studio.NET, 10-152-157 Ruby on Rails Development, or 10-152-190 Java Programming – IDC; OR
- An IT professional with 2 years experience in an Object Oriented programming language (e.g. Java, Visual Basic .NET, C#, Ruby on Rails),
Certificate Eligibility
To earn a certificate, you need to apply for admission. A grade of C or better is required in each course to award the certificate. No more than 50% of the certificate credits may be through advanced standing.
Online Certificate Application
Create an ApplyWeb account and follow the instructions to complete the Online Certificate Application. Submit the $15 non-refundable fee (payable by credit card, debit card or electronic check) with your application. Applicants may submit more than one certificate application per term using the Online Certificate Application; the same fees apply for each additional application.
Paper Certificate Application
You can request a paper application from the Enrollment Center at (608) 246-6210. Submit the $15 non-refundable fee (payable by check or money order) with your application. Effective January 1, 2011, the non-refundable paper certificate application fee will be $20. Please note: using a paper application can delay the processing of your admission application additional two weeks.
Financial Aid Eligibility
Certificates are not eligible for financial aid.
Employment
The certificate will be awarded upon completion of the requirements with a minimum of a 2.0 grade average and no course grade lower than a C. The certificate will be awarded when completion of all requirements is verified after the semester the last course has been completed.
