
Industrial Automation Post-baccalaureate Certificate
About
Students completing this certificate will have practical skills and knowledge needed for employment in Automation and Process Control industries, including manufacturing, automation and renewable energy infrastructures in public and private sectors. The certificate is perfect for individuals who have a theoretical basis for automation and process control but lack the practical skills.
The curriculum includes five courses from the Industrial Maintenance Technician program. The curriculum may be completed in two semesters or longer.
Admissions
1. A bachelor's degree in Engineering and consent of program director
2. One semester of college level AC/DC
3. One semester of college level Controls (Motors/Transforms) with laboratory component
4. Good computer skills (Excel, Networking)
Applicants with missing prerequisites may complete those courses at Madison College.
Certificate Eligibility
This certificate does not require an application to the college. Students register for individual courses during the open registration period each semester. It is the student's responsibility to request the certificate by calling (608) 246-6102 once all required classes have been completed and grades have been received. A grade of C or better is required in each course to award the certificate. No more than 50% of the certificate credits may be through advanced standing.
