    About

    This is an entry-level course and meets requirements for licensure in Wisconsin and certification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. This course is offered throughout the district. Prerequisites: CPR certification at professional level and a COMPASS Reading score of 80 or higher or proof of a grade C or better in a college level English. Students must be at least 18 years old.

    Application for this program is processed through the EMS office only. Please read and follow the instructions on the schedule of classes carefully. Incomplete registrations will not be considered.

    Emergency Medical Technician–Basic (EMT-B) is an entry-level course and meets requirements for licensure in Wisconsin and certification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. This course is offered throughout the district.

    Health History Documentaion is required. Applicants will be sent a health history documentation form from the Madison College EMS office after acceptance into his/her program. Their physician must mail examination results directly to the Human & Protective Services Centers. Under no circumstances are students assigned to the clinical area until this requirement is met.
