    About

    The Madison Area Technical College Online Dietary Manager Program prepares students to function as food service managers and critical members of the health care team in hospitals, nursing homes, school food service, day care facilities, correctional institutions and other health care institutions.

    This program offers working students an opportunity to study and complete courses online, if desired. The materials are available from the Madison Area Technical College Website 24 hours a day.

    The program is offered in three modules:
    • Nutritional and Medical Nutrition Therapy
    • Food Service Management
    • Coordinated Practice

    Admissions

    Certificate Eligibility

    This certificate does not require an application to the college, but students must meet the pre/co-requisites listed for the certificate classes.

    1. High School graduation or HSED or GED;
    2. Two years of food service employment or post-high school training in food service;
    3. Current employment in food service position;
    4. Intermediate computer skills and access to a computer with internet, email, and printing capabilities.

    Students may register for individual courses after completion of the registration packet with verification from their employer.  A grade of C or better is required in each course to award the certificate. No more than 50% of the certificate credits may be through advanced standing.  If you have additional questions, please contact the Center of Health & Safety Education.

    Additional Info

    Graduates of the certificate may apply for the national level registration to become a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM).
