Tutoring Services
On-campus tutoring
At the Writing Center, we feel the very best way to improve your writing is to sit down with someone and talk about it. The Writing Center consultants are professional educators as well as experienced writers (in fact, most of us are Madison College instructors), so you can be sure that the advice you get is professional and informed. We won’t fix your papers for you, but we will ask you questions, give you guidance, and help you look at your writing from a reader’s point of view.
Virtual Tutoring
The Madison College Writing Center offers you two options for synchronous virtual tutoring. If you're familiar with Skype and have the necessary equipment (a microphone and a high speed internet connection), our Skype tutoring will offer you real-time feedback, right to you in the comfort of your home. If you like the idea of a real-time connection, but would rather use the school's technology, Telepresence tutoring is for you.
Email Tutoring
Email tutoring offers convenience and quality feedback, but it can’t help but be a bit slower and more artificial than a real live conversation. However, if you’re taking an online class or attending at one of our satellite campuses, email tutoring is a great option.
