
The Mitby Theater
The Mitby Theater is contemporary state-of-the-art performance venue capable of hosting a wide variety of events. With 975 seats, in a continential seating style, the theater maintains an intimacy while comfortably holding a large number of people.
The theater was originally designed as a home for the Madison Symphony Orchestra, so the acoustics are outstanding. Currently the theater hosts student performances for the MATC Performing Arts department as well as local and national touring productions.

Come join Harold and his magical, purple crayon in an amazing on-stage adventure!
Based on the beloved book series by Crockett Johnson, Harold and the Purple Crayon tells the story of Harold, a curious, imaginative, and resourceful little boy who creates the world he wants to explore by drawing it.
Harold goes to the circus, swims in the sea, takes a rocket ride into space and appears on television. With the help of his magical crayon, Harold's imagination comes joyfully to life until he meets the villain, Mr. Smudge, who has other plans for Harold's purple crayon. Will Harold get his purple crayon back to complete his drawing adventures?
Come see for yourself as Madison College presents Harold and the Purple Crayon on July 31st, August 7th and 8th. Performances are at 11 AM and 1:30 PM each day in the Studio Theatre at the Truax Campus of Madison College.
Advanced Ticket Sales begin July 19th through the Norman Mitby Theater Box Office for $5 each, or on the day of performances at the Studio Theatre (Room 206A - second floor), $8 Adults, $6 children.
