    College women's basketball: MATC secures trip to national tourney

    JOLIET, Ill. -- The Madison Area Technical College women's basketball team is headed back to the NJCAA Division III national tournament for the third straight year.

    Morgan Lass and Thresia Elskamp led a balanced scoring effort with 12 points apiece as the third-ranked WolfPack beat Milwaukee Area Technical College for the third time this season, 62-58, in the Region IV title game Saturday evening.

    Gabi Hungerford had 11 points and nine rebounds, while Mya Flentje added 10 points for Madison Tech (28-3), which was the national runner-up last season.

    For Milwaukee Tech, Yanette Feagin scored 22 points, while Sierra Medinger had 18 points and eight rebounds and Alyssa Jensen amassed 14 points and 15 rebounds.

    This year's NJCAA Division III tournament will be held March 11-13 in Rochester, Minn.
