Multimedia Equipment and Assignments
For student in-library use only, we have multimedia laptops, webcams, flipcams, USB microphones, netbooks, memory card readers, portable dvd players, mice, headphones, and assorted cables and other devices. We do not have any equipment that can be checked out of the library.
Any recording involving audio will require a room reservation as well so that other library patrons are not disturbed and so you don't record a lot of background noise.
Students using the rooms and/or equipment must read and sign a usage agreement form (PDF, 88 KB).
Be sure to bring your prepared script, your student ID card (OneCard), and any other equipment you may need such as a camera, power adapters, and cables. We have some USB and firewire cables for student use in the library, but we can't assure that we have every cable a student might need to work with their personal camera or laptop.
Students are responsible for their work and for saving their files. Your H drive (home directory) won’t have enough space for multimedia projects. A USB flash drive or external hard drive may be useful. We do have some flash drives on reserve for checkout at the reserve desk.
Keep in mind that multimedia projects take a lot of time, so please plan accordingly
