    Motorcycle training at Madison College is done in a safe environment. You will learn the different types of motorcycles, protective riding gear, motorcycle controls, street strategies and more. You learn basic riding skills using our motorcycles on a closed range.

    The primary training facility is at the Madison College Commercial Avenue campus. Training is also offered at the Reedsburg, Fort Atkinson & Watertown campuses.

    Motorcycle Rider Training

    Basic Motorcycle Rider Training

    Even if you've never been on a motorcycle before, or if you've ridden for years, the course will teach you skills and defensive riding tactics that could take years to learn on your own.

    These classes consist of ten full hours of actual range riding and six hours of classroom instruction from veteran riders trained and certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and approved by the WI Department of Transportation.  The riding skills test is given at the end of the range portion of the class.     If you are under the age of 18 at the time of registration or require proof of enrollment to receive you temporary motorcycle permit you must contact the Motorcycle Office directly to obtain the necessary paperwork.

    Scooter Basic Rider Training

    These classes consist of ten full hours of actual range riding and six hours of classroom instruction from veteran riders trained and certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and approved by the WI Department of Transportation.  The riding skills test is given at the end of the range portion of the class.     Scooters are provided for the students which meet the specifications to require a class M license for on road operation.

    Street Rider Training

    This is a partial day riding course that provides actual on road experience with highly skilled RiderCoaches. The SRC provides a practical application of the physical and mental skills for risk management. Riders and their equipment must meet several criteria to participate in the course.

    Street Rider is offered primarily in the Spring but may be scheduled by request.

    Basic Motorcycle Maintenance

    This class will consist of nine hours of classroom lecture and discussion. There will be some hands-on training. There will also be tips on trouble-shooting, tool requirements, shop manual usage, motorcycle storage and more. This class is held during in early Spring and Fall.
