Meet Serafin, IT Network Specialist Graduate

Serafin was working as a chef in a restaurant when he decided to change careers.

“My wife is a teacher, and I was working every weekend so we didn't see each other. I started investigating and decided on networking. In these times, it seemed like a safe bet—they can't outsource the network guy!"

It was a different sort of networking that led him to a job as a networking transport engineer at a large insurance provider.

“I was friends with Jason through our Madison College classes, and we were officers together in the AITP Club (Association of Information Professionals). We got to know each other, so when a position opened up where he worked, he called me about it.”

Even though it was a big company, Serafin says he felt Madison College prepared him to meet the challenges. “The curriculum for networking was very extensive. I felt totally prepared to work on bigger networks.”
