    What is needed to take a math course?

    Students must complete one (1) of the following:

    • The course prerequisite taken at Madison College or another college with a final grade of "C" or better.
    • Appropriate COMPASS score taken within the last 2 years.

    • purplemath.com - algebra lessons written with the student in mind emphasizing the practicalities rather than the technicalities
    • math.com - Review material from basic mathematics through Calculus
    • sosmath.com - Free math review from Algebra to Differential Equations
    • Test Prep Mathematics - a Pre-algebra / basic mathematics review and practice test problems
    • ALEKS - For $19.95 per month you can use ALEKS online. ALEKS will first test you to find your specific strengths and weaknesses. Then it allows you to choose what skills to work on to master those you are ready to learn. ALEKS is used in the Algebra Concepts/Review course at Madison College.
