Career planning is an important step toward academic success and career satisfaction. Career planning resources are designed to help match students' skills, values, interests and experiences with appropriate careers. Counselors can provide up-to-date career information and decision-making strategies.
The Career Services Center, Truax Campus, Room 159I, is a comprehensive self-paced center for career exploration, self-assessment, career information, learning options, and job search strategies. Assessment tools include ACT's DISCOVER (Computerized Career Guidance Program) and WCIS (Wisconsin Career Information System). There is no charge for these services. The Assessment Center, Commercial
Avenue Campus, Room 251, offers career assessments to assist individuals
in making career decisions. A variety of career assessment tools including
WCIS and Internet career resources may be used to help determine interests,
abilities and career directions. The program is recommended for people
in the process of changing careers, entering the workforce for the first
time, or deciding whether to begin or continue a post-secondary education.
